The weather started out drizzling but it soon changed for the better. The turn out was bigger and better than we had in the past. Was happy to see more interest in purchasing alpacas this year. Looking forward to next year.

September 4,2009 Show Results from the Llama and Alpaca Show.

Chuckie took first place in his class along with Grand Champion over all this year.

We are preparing for National Alpaca Farm Day. We will open our farm to the public to come out and meet the gentle alpacas from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday September 26th . This year we will have a lady that will show the process of spinning plus fun for the kids, face painting pumpkin painting and more. There will be refreshments for all and we hope for good weather, but rain or shine we invite you to come out and spend the afternoon with us.

Jester’s Dark Shadow is doing wonderful, he has been working with the halter and lead, seem to be catching on to what this is all about. Yesterday he took a walk with one of the girls in the back yard. He is only two months ago and has become a gentleman. He is people friendly and loves to kiss.

Our new little guy has been with us for two weeks now.  He started eating grass and hay within the first week I don’t remember our other crias doing that, he just acts so grown up already.  He always wants the girls to run,  he  spends his time with all the others girls and does not hang on mommy much.  Mom seems to be ok with that but keeps him in her sight while he has fun.  It is so relaxing to watch the little guy run and play.

 Thursday July 2, 2009, the weather for this time of year is cool.  I noticed at morning chores that Scout is not acting herself.   I had scheduled a vacation day from the office.  I am happy for that so I can be here for the delivery.  It has been tough working but Thanks to our neighbor lady who has been a big help to check on her every day.  Scout delivered about 10:30am and to a healthy little boy.  The little guy is black and looks just like his Daddy.   Mommy and baby are doing great!

We are very excited.  Scouts due date is this month!  We cannot wait to see her new cria.

National Alpaca Farm Day was a beautiful day.  We hosted many families visiting the farm.  The kids painted pumpkins and had refreshments.  Looking forward to hosting againg in the fall of 2009.
